Five Winter Tips
By DM Cleaning, Oct 29 2014 10:30AM
Winter is fast approaching and the evenings have just started getting dark early. Far too early! It’s also about this time of year that we receive requests for outdoor cleaning jobs, whether they’re one-offs or regular jobs.
So, here are DM Cleaning Service’s top five tips to help you to keep your house looking good through the winter season:
Make sure your gutters stay clear of fallen leaves
Build-ups in gutters can cause blockages quicker than you think. Not to mention that a driveway full of leaves can look messy and unsightly.
Keep on top of your window/PVC cleaning
As the weather batters your windows and PVC frames, it can be tempting to just say “let the rain do the cleaning”. But, if left for too long, the dirt will become stubborn and difficult to remove.
Shoes off at the door!
Now’s the time to ask family and friends to kick their shoes off at the door. Harsh wind and rain mean that the streets are lined with debris and puddles; not want you want to see on your new cream carpet! (You could also leave a towel by the door to give any pets a quick rubdown).
Brush as regularly as you can
Get out of the house to brush your paving, decking or driveway at least once a week. When leaves start to rot they can damage wood and discolour stone. Or give us a call and we’ll pop round to give it all a good jet washing for you!
Keep your conservatory roof clear
During winter, we see so many conservatory roofs that are crying out for a good clean. It’s this time of year that they get covered in dirt and algae -- and sometimes weighed down by snowfall. Keeping them clean will also help to let more natural light into the room.
We hope these tips will come in handy over the winter months. Let us know if you’ve got some of your own! And as always, give us a call if you want to arrange a free quote for us to clear gutters, clean windows & PVC, jet wash your driveway or scrub your conservatory. We’ll be battling the elements across Macclesfield, Stretford, Cholrton, Sale, Altrincham and the rest of South Manchester. Wish us luck!
